Philip Cavanaugh and Claire Simmons are lured to Hollywood by shifty pal Gilbert's offer of a lucrative screenwriting gig. Then comes the news that the project will be graced by Hollywood royalty - imperious screen legend Diana Malenfant, her son the fantastically sexy (and secretly gay) megastar Stephen Donato, plus his wife, Gina. But with such Star Power on board how long before three newbie scribes are replaced by more seasoned hands? Gilbert wrangles an interview but the boys find Diana and Stephen reeling from the news that Lily, Diana's washed-up actress sister, has decided to write her memoirs. Lily knows Diana's most lurid secrets and has ample TNT to blow the hinges off Stephen's closet. Philip, instantly smitten with Stephen, proposes a crafty solution to the stars' memoir problem. The job is won and glory beckons. Unhappily for Philip, the road to glory proves liberally strewn with land mines including Stephen's pit bull of a publicist and his cheerfully indiscreet uncle Monty, not to mention the project itself...With the same exuberant wit he showed in his Frasier scripts, Joe Keenan weaves a brilliantly elaborate plot that sees our trio causing mayhem in a side-splitting story of bitter feuds, plagiarism and the seamier side of Tinseltown.

It's been a decade since the two previous books in the series came out (so to speak); I read thisone without re-reading those first. Big mistake! So ... I can recommend it as the third of three, but not really as a stand-alone. Hope that makes sense!
