James Patrick Hunt was born in Surrey, England in 1964. He moved with his parents to Ponca City, Oklahoma in 1972. He graduated from Saint Louis University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering and from Marquette University Law School in 1992. He presently practices law in Oklahoma City, representing primarily police and firefighter labor unions.
