The Tupi Field series is kind of like Archer meets TOPGUN. In the first book, three characters, all of whom bring their own special baggage to the story, strive to become Marine Officers, jet pilots, pilots who do the hardest thing a pilot can do land a jet on the pitching deck of a carrier at night and in bad weather, and, finally, TOPGUN Aces. Ricky hates all politicians who have run up a national debt of 40 trillion dollars and delivered a future we all are likely to live through. Carmen hates all Chinese Communists, but especially the ones that machine-gunned her Dad right in front of her as a child. And J.J. hates anybody who can pass his jump serve. The three become fast friends as they endure the rigors of training to become Marine Officers and jet pilots. Along the way, there are many hijinks, some steamy sex, many new friends are made, and love accidentally blooms between two of the main characters. The female readers will love this love story, and they are forgiven for skimming over the technical details of wing loading and thrust-to-weight ratios.
