It's average, explicitly reverent, retro-oriented power pop in which traces of Elvis Costello, the Raspberries, the Kinks, the Beach Boys, and many more of the usual suspects abound. The Brown Eyed Susans' "Sunday School," a British-hued cut that jams a lot of tribute to the Kinks, Zombies, and Beach Boys into one song, is about the best selection; Single Bullet Theory's "Finding Out" has a more mature feel than the rest of the disc, its lounge-ish vocal and melodic piano part recalling tinges of Scott Walker and Todd Rundgren without approaching either of those singers' better work. ~ Richie Unterberger, Rovi
