At first, I was excited to see Levy Rozman's BOOK at the local library until I read a Chapter and was told that if I wanted to continue with more I had to use a QR code. I think the author forgets that the majority of people in the U.S. and the World do not own the technology to do so, just as the majority do not own computers or have internet. The privileged who have such technology usually only communicate with other with such technology and thus presume that "everyone" has it. If he was hell bent on forcing people to QR codes and going on tech scavenger hunts, why write a BOOK? It's a major weakness of the book, insofar as I am concerned, as it shows someone who is calloused against those without. That's why I use a library and thought the the book would help me improve my chess. The author's attitude toward those chess players like me made me decide that there is no way that I want to invest what little money I have in his book. I'd advise others against it as well. One of the majority; I know--people will quote numbers of cell phones bought as if those with such technology to look up QR codes never have more than one of the technology in the same household. The only thing worse is going to a restaurant and finding the menu only has QR codes. The book should have been only available online, then he would have had a great market for it.
