(6) Imperative. The O.S. forms are used, except the fem. pi. The more common O.S. form adobd m. pi. gives way to the variant, less common in O.S., afc)ob, for the termination of which the Eastern copies of Bar Hebraeus' grammar (chap. IX. 4) and Bar Zu'bi give Rwasa, not Rwakha. We must notice that in N.S. all except verbs ( 42) and a few 23 verbs in Z. ( 38) make the imperative in e; thus aoso2 N.S. = aspJt O.S. say. This leads to a simplification in grammar. So StS to run, = O.S. irregular verb Ci3, is in N.S. quite regular. Imper. Oyo-o = O.S. iffl or A-Cia. This verb is not used in Ti. (7) The other persons of the imperative are expressed by the first present tense; sec 51 (10). (8) Subsidiary tenses may be formed by Joef, as Jfi'aSa Joof JS3 he will be finishing (rare): riA 2ocrf Na he will havefinished (not common): 2 La 2oo) 2oof isa he would have finished (common).
