Gerald Scarfe was an English cartoonist and illustrator. He worked for both the 'Sunday Times' and for the 'New Yorker'. In original illustrated wraps. Gerald Scarfe. Near Fine. A scarce limited first edition volume of the works of Gerald Scarfe with a signed lithograph of Thatcher specially produced. This first edition of this collection of Gerald Scarfe's artwork is one of 250 copies with a specially done lithograph signed by Scarfe, compiling 190 illustrations of pen and ink artwork and photographs of Scarfe's sculptural work. This volume exemplifies Scarfe's vibrant, violent and surreal artistic style, and showcases much of what brought him his acclaim. Scarfe is also famed for his collaborations with Pink Floyd and his role as production designer on the 1997 'Hercules' film. First edition, with signed lithograph of a caricature of Thatcher, and slipcase. Scarcely found, numbered 244 of 250. With monochrome illustrations throughout, and 15 colour plates collated complete. A collection of an incredible talent, this work showcases Scarfe at his best. In the original hardcover cloth binding, with gilt stamped decoration to the front board and spine, with slipcase containing signed lithograph in folder. Externally, very smart. Slipcase is a little worn and discoloured, but remains solid. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. The lithograph is clean and bright, well protected in folder. Near Fine.
