We see different ways he tries to weaken the sanctification and unity of marriage. The enemy uses division, unforgiveness, and in some cases addiction to destroy a marriage from the inside. Christian marriages along with our Christian walks are being bombarded daily with junk coming from the news, internet (pornography), organizations, and movies. We have to remain strong and guard the gates of our eyes, ears, and mouth. In wartime, trenches were a place where soldiers held a defensive stance against the enemy's small arms fire. In spiritual aspects, the trenches are a place of complacency and defeat. God is calling us out of the trenches, in order to advance on the enemy, where we will see victory.
