This investigation included, among others, the works of Aristotle, Quintilian, Cicero, Whately, Camp bell, Blair, Hill, Genung, Bautain, Kames. This careful restudy led me to the conclusion that little that was new had been added to Aristotle, and that while Aristotle was masterly in his analysis, he failed to present a construct five system that could be of daily use to the twentieth cen tury speaker.)
