One of the most overlooked albums in Journey's catalog, Dream After Dream is the band's soundtrack for a little-seen 1980s Japanese film of the same name. On these tracks, most of which are instrumental, the San Francisco-based rock group indulges in its more progressive and ornate tendencies, with former Santana members Neal Schon (guitar) and Gregg Rolie (keyboards), in particular, cutting loose (see "Destiny").
