Besonders die Darstellung des "Shell Shocks" soll mit Hilfe eingehender Textpassagen analysiert werden. In der historischen Forschung um den "Shell Shock" besch???ftigte man sich besonders mit der historischen Entwicklung der Behandlung und der Betrachtungsweise in der Psychologie. Dort wurde "Shell Shock" als Ph???nomen der neuen gesteigerten Waffengewalt und der Industrialisierung identifiziert. Anhand ihrer Beschreibungen soll festgestellt werden, inwiefern sich Pat Barker am historischen Kontext orientiert und wie realit???tsnah ihre Ausf???hrungen sind. Wie gro??? ist der Sprung zwischen Fakten und Fiktion in der Darstellung des "Shell Shocks"? Da Pat Barker bereits im Nachwort ihres Romanes eine Vermischung von Fakten und Fiktion andeutet, soll diese Hausarbeit nun kl???ren, wo im Bezug auf die Darstellung des "Shell Shocks", die Trennlinie zwischen historischen Fakten und Fiktion zu ziehen ist.
