This wasn't my favorite book but I liked Quinn's character. Except for his secrets and the fact that Sookie would always have to come second to his crazy family. I'm all for family, it just seems to me that at some point he should have been able to stabilize them so he could focus on himself and his relationships. Eric is my favorite character and i'm satisfied how book 4 turned out and the rest of the series turned out. Back to Quinn I had high hopes for him especially after the swamp and back at Sookies' place. Now he's just eh (sigh)! Overall the books were an easy read I read the whole series in a week. I started during season 3 of the show b/cos I heard the books were so great. Now watching the show is a little unfulfilling b/cos they leave important stuff out & they don't expound on certain characters & things especially Bill.

Definitely Dead, Book 6
Sookie finds out from Eric that she must attend the vampire summit that is coming up. She tries to tell him again that she is not his, she doesn?t belong to him, and that he cannot just tell her what to do. Because this job will add to her financial cushion, she plans to work the summit anyway.
Jason is still very new to the supe?s world and new at being a werepanther. Him and Crystal?s relationship is moving along as fast as Jason always does. Unfortunately, Crystal is having another miscarriage. Thanks to Sookie not holding a grudge against Crystal, her life is saved when she makes a call to Dr. Ludwig.
There is a double wedding being planned in Bon Temps. Sookie seems to be happier for Andy and his fiancé than she is for Portia and hers. After all, she was helpful in setting up Andy?s marriage proposal.
There was some chemistry between Sookie and Quinn at the Shreveport Pack Leader competition. Quinn and her start dating. Being a weretiger, there is a lot about Quinn that she does not know, and could get her killed. (What?s new, right?) They are attacked on their first date by a pair of junky, newly turned Weres. Who could have turned them that quick and sent them after Sookie and Quinn? Who knew about their date, or who is following them?
Because of a devious but good at heart priest, Sookie is confronted by the Pelts. They just know that Sookie knows the truth of what happened to their daughter Debbie.
Sookie is called out to New Orleans to collect the belongings of her dead vampire cousin Hadley. With a death at her house, and the lawyer Mr. Cataliades hastening her leave, Sookie asks Bill to come along with them to New Orleans.
She meets the landlord; a witch named Amelia, and discovers a dead body in the closet. (Again?) Amelia had performed a spell to keep things as they were until Sookie arrived. Now that the spell has been broken, the pair are attacked by a Were turned vamp!
After an intimidating introduction to the teen queen of New Orleans, a group spell is performed to see what happened in the apartment on the night of Hadley?s definite death. Will she discover who her cousin?s murderer is or was?
Sookie learns of her cousin?s love affair with the queen of Louisiana, and the political marriage between the queen and the king of Arkansas, that came between the two female vampire lovers.
In the midst of the chaos, Sookie will learn a new truth about her lineage, discover a plot against her by Bill that will forever harden her heart against him possibly leaving the door open for others (like Eric), and resolve the political marriage between the vampire queen of New Orleans and the vampire king of Arkansas. She will also relieve herself of the terrible burden and weight on her conscience of her actions on the night of Debbie Pelt?s death.
Sookie returns home abjuring herself from Bill, with a new friend/room-mate, the witch Amelia Broadway and her new cat, and become witness to a politically controversial act that will leave even a vampire ?Definitely Dead?.

I love this series. Even though this is my least favorite book in the series I couldn't bring myself to get it an average rating. Quinn is not my favorite person in these books but you can't help but feel bad for him in the end. He has a lot to deal with when it comes to his family but if he would have just been honest with Sookie from the beginning things might have been different for them. I can't stop myself from thinking Sookie should be with Sam in the end. He tells her everything and never keeps her out of the loop. He would do anything to keep her safe and she is his top priority. He is my favorite character and I guess Eric is my second choice.

Great Book -
Love this series and love the otherworld that Harris has created. The books are a quick read and the characters are engaging. Love the ambiance of the southern Louisiana setting.

Excellent!
Charlaine Harris is a great writer, her characters are likeable and unforgettable, her stories are interesting, intelligent and funny. Once you get to know Sookie and her friends, you will be hooked and wait impatiently for the next series installment!
