Return of the Nerakians
In this book, a sequel to ?Close Encounters of the Sexy Kind?, Kia, a warrior from Nerak, has come to Earth looking for her wayward cousin Mala. Instead she finds trouble at a biker bar (which she handles very capably) and a studly, handsome, sexy cop named Nick. After having wild, passionate sex with Nick, she spills the beans about who she is.
This is not serious fare, of course, nor is it meant to be. In spite of the message of a matriarchal society that leaves in peace and harmony, it is clear that Earthly delights are not to be sneered at, either.
In one way, these books provide stereotypical porn fantasies for men. The women are gorgeous, sexy, uninhibited and become very sexually aggressive when they are given alcohol. They seize the initiative, have no problem walking around naked and the only competition the men have for them are the sterile (if smoking hot) robots the women keep around to tend to their household needs.
However, the alien women don?t become doormats simply because they?ve fallen for Earth men. They all have professions?one of them is even a warrior, though she is frustrated on Nerak (the author?s name spelled backwards?how quaint) since her planet hasn?t had war for centuries and therefore she is left with nothing to do.
Karen Kelley manages to play both sides of the fence?pornographic fantasies for men, erotica for women?and comes up with a winning trilogy that makes for hot and titillating bedtime reading.
