Contemporary half brown leather (spine and corners) and marbeled paste-down paper covered boards, stamped gilt lettering and decorative spine, 4 raised bands, 6x9 1/2 inches, double column, 194 pp + 2 pp publisher's ads. Hardcover, very good. Corners bumped with cardboard exposed there and along edges of boards, moderate shelf scuffing, rubbed along joints and head and foot of spine, L-shaped 1 inch tear at foot of spine, faded red edges. Internally, water(? ) stain on endpapers, evident (1/2 to 1 1/2 inches) on upper corners of first and last few dozen or so leaves, and on side edges (3/4 x 4 inches) of last 2-3 dozen leaves, occasional bit of foxing, faint previous owner's inscription (in pencil) on paste-down rear endpaper, previous owner's signature (in pencil) on title page, author's real name written (in ink) on title page, otherwise tight, clean, relatively crisp and unmarked.
