In addition, a new detective, Jennifer Angell (Emmanuelle Vaugier), joins the staff; Flack (Eddie Cahill) returns to work after recovering from injuries sustained in an explosion that concluded Season 2; and an office romance blossoms between Danny (Carmine Giovinazzo) and Lindsay (Anna Belknap). But not everything goes well for Lindsay. She returns to Montana to testify in a murder trial. When she was 14 she witnessed three of her friends being gunned down inside a café. As for Stella (Melina Kanakaredes), she accidentally cuts her hand with bloodstained glass that may be infected with HIV, and she becomes a murder suspect in a cold case in Philadelphia. And she's not the only CSI suspected of murder. Hawkes (Hill Harper) is a key person of interest when a Greenwich Village bartender is gunned down.
