I read this book and a sequel by Chacour. He writes very well and he is a giving and caring man. He has done wonderful and self sacrificing work for the people of his region. We all must pray for the peace of Jerusalem as the Bible commands. It is very sad that both races have been mistreated by each other. This is true of all races. The American indians fought against each other in America before is was America. As long as people live together, there are those who will exploit, hate, kill, hurt others. Having stated this obvious fact, people who read and believe the Bible/Torah know that Jerusalem is God's chosen place and He chose Abraham and Sarah to be the ones to start the race that He called to inhabit the land. Ishmael was born first but was not the promised first born son. The 12 sons of Jacob came to possess the land finally and each had a division. God ordained. The trouble is with the hearts of man who would distort and deny God's words. God also blessed Ishmael, but He did not give him Jerusalem/Israel as his inheritance. Isaac was to be that one that came from Abraham and Sarah. Father God, loves both races. They ARE blood brothers and that makes it all the sadder that they fight each other with hatred instead of embrace each other like Esau and Jacob did in love.
