This sleepy Mediterranean fishing village went from catering recovering British footballers to witnessing legions of new global dollars pour in from beleaguered post-Ibizia clubbers in search of a somewhat different summer-dance nexus, and the explosion of club culture, think 20 venues within a mile of each other, wasn't exactly trumpeted by the Cyprus board of tourism until the dance mags, equally desperate for a new way to supply makers of smart drinks and cell phones with more readers, made it impossible to refuse. Who cares that B15 Project's "Girls Like Us" is as defiantly au courant as Bogie hyperventilating into a fedora, Kristine Blond's "Love Shy" just ten liters of sun-bleached soda seduction, and Azzido da Bass and Basement Jaxx are combined to form a double-pronged ragga wobble liable to stay a few scampering steps ahead of Father Time.
