Very well presented with the circumstances clearly expressed: The Jews, who were
awaiting execution and the Diplomat who was in a dilemma. If he did nothing, the
Jews would likely be assassinated. As a diplomat, however, he could issue them
visas which would enable them to leave for freedom--at his own risk. But he ended
by deciding to issuing them visas, and they were able to find freedom. Chiune came
to become recognized as a hero for his actions, by many people of the the world,
myself included, thanks to this author.
