Fabulous feel-good story
Jon Katz is a great, desciptive writer. This book delves into the life of a formerly abused dog who comes to live with Jon. Although Jon goes to extreme measures to save his crazed dog (who attacks school buses) the hilarity and obvious love are evident. In a period of time when we wonder if anybody cares, this book shows neighbors and friends who seek to help Jon and Orson as they both grow to greatness.
Jon explores the dog's previous life and makes an ultimate decision which is quite painful. How far are we willing to go to save our beloved dogs?
Although I am not sure I relate well with Jon himself, I do appreciate his honesty and willingness to explore his decisions. And of course, I fell in love with Orson from the start.
